My Story
E-Bridge was founded by Yilin Xia, whose academic and personal experiences across cultures inspired the organization’s mission. Born in Shanghai, China, and currently residing in Kansas, United States, Yilin has long been curious about the diversity of the world and the potential within each person.
Over time, this curiosity grew into independent study and project-based research exploring how people from different ages and backgrounds study languages. At E-Bridge, Yilin uses tools from linguistics and data analysis to examine learning patterns and reflects on effective approaches. She also draws on artificial intelligence, computer science, and educational psychology to design and develop learning applications that support diverse learners.
As a lifelong learner of English, Mandarin, Shanghainese and other dialects, French, and additional languages, Yilin understands firsthand both the challenges and the transformative power of language learning. This personal journey inspired the vision of building bridges—across languages, cultures, and communities.
